Meet the Officiant!

Chris and I have realized that our family and friends are pretty much split between Northern California and Southern California with a sparse sprinkling in the middle. As a result, we realized we have a need to have two receptions so as to accommodate everyone's needs. So we will be hosting our main wedding in the Los Angeles area for mostly family and a few friends and then a band wedding in Eureka with mostly other band people. :) This is a good choice. Trust us.

Officiating our Los Angeles ceremony will be our very good friend, Janna Ostoya! Funny enough, I asked Janna to be the officiant for Chris and my wedding a couple years ago at the Boonville Beer Festival. This was before we were engaged or anything so it was really unofficial. Now it is official!

So please meet, Janna Ostoya!

To help you get to know her, here are some fun facts about Janna!

What's your favorite color?
Blue. No, yel - Aaaaaarrrrggghhhh!
Probably lavender.
If money wasn't an object, what would you do with your life?
That's a really good question. Um. Probably what I do now, but without fretting as much.
What is a fun fact about you that not many people know?
I am a cat goddess. Not *the* cat goddess, just *a* cat goddess.
What is your life motto?
Given the choice of two evils, try the new one.
What person from history do you most identify with and why? Gertrude. Not Saint Gertrude the Great. Gertrude the farmer. She invented pudding.
Where is your favorite place to be?
Right here.
If you could be any superhero, who would you be? (Feel free to make one up)
Xena Warrior Princess and Environmental Activist.

Meet the Maid of Honor!

- Name: Sophie Chorich
- How did we meet Sophie: The Marching Lumberjacks, 3 1/2 years ago
- Favorite color?: navy blue and peach
- If money were no object, what would Sophie do with her life? Stay in school forever and throw lots of dinner parties.
- Odd Fact: Sophie was once chemically burned by a fuzzy caterpillar. Was it this one? I don't know.

- While Sophie doesn't particularly have a motto about life, she thinks, "Triumph with dignity," and "Don't talk with food in your mouth," are helpful things to remember.
- The historical figure Sophie most identified with as a child is Harriet Tubman because "I was afraid of getting caught goofing off, I liked caves, and I thought the Underground Railroad was actually a big tunnel underground with push-dollys."
- Sophie's two favorite places to be are in the kitchen making tasty things or at the dance studio, working off said tasty things.
- If Sophie were a superhero, she'd be "Aquamanatee."
- Thoughts about wedding planning:  "I'll keep you motivated to update the website, but not to post every little decision because we want to reserve some surprises for the guests on the actual day."
